In Memory of Mr Anthony Salem
Mr Wolsey and the Ibstock Place School community are saddened to hear of the sudden and unexpected passing of Mr Anthony Salem, aged 83.
As Chair of Governors to Ibstock from 1988 to 2002, Mr Salem worked closely with former Headmistress Mrs Bayliss and later, Mrs Sylvester-Johnson, providing guidance and expertise during a period of transformation for the school.
Mrs Bayliss said:
Tony was an inspirational and hugely supportive Chair of Governors during a time of transition. During his tenure as Chair of Governors pupil enrolment grew by over one hundred and fifty percent and several capital building projects were initiated. Tony was a constant support during a tremendously interesting time of re-establishment of Ibstock, within the community and the independent school sector.
The entire community at Ibstock Place School send our thoughts and condolences to Mr Salem’s family during this difficult time of loss and mourning.
