Partnerships & Community
Partnerships and Community
With our London location, we are proud to be part of such a diverse and inclusive local community and to make a significant contribution to it.
We continue to grow our extensive partnerships programme in which our pupils play a leading part, and to deepen existing relationships with local community groups. A complete record of our partnership activities may be found via the Independent Schools’ Council and its Schools Together website.
My High Street |
We are pleased to partner with My High Street, to support the local economy and High Street businesses in East Sheen. We encourage our Ibstock community to download the app and shop local, with a range of discounts and benefits for users. |
2023 Partnership Highlights

Matched Funding Initiative

Matched Funding Initiative
Our incredible FIPS (Families of Ibstock Place School) launched the Matched Funding Initiative in 2022-2023.
Ibstock pupils can apply to have any fundraising they undertake matched to the value of £500. Pupils have raised money for charities including the RNLI, Walk The Walk (breast cancer charity), The Kids Cancer Charity, and the Royal Parks Charity.

Fundraising for Refugees: The Big House Read

Fundraising for Refugees: The Big House Read
In the face of appalling tragedy whereby people have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict, natural disasters or fear of persecution, we want to do something positive.
We are reading for good. Schools and individuals across the UK, supported by the School Library Association (SLA) are reading as if their lives depend on it (because lives do depend on it) to raise money for refugees worldwide.
Organised by our inspirational librarian, Helen Cleaves, our pupils have been doing sponsored reads to raise money for charity UKHCR who protect refugees worldwide by providing life-saving emergency assistance. We are also proud that two of our pupils hand painted a design to be used nationwide for the posters.

Lower Sixth Form Leadership and Volunteering

Lower Sixth Form Leadership and Volunteering
We are particularly proud of our Lower Sixth Formers and their contributions to community projects outside of School.
All Lower Sixth pupils (who continue with three A-levels rather than four) begin a weekly, timetabled volunteering project in November which runs for the remainder of the academic year. Recent projects include: reading and lesson support at nearby Alton and Mosaic Jewish Primary Schools and Linden Lodge School for the Blind; making over neglected green spaces on the Alton Estate; making toys for charity donation (under the careful supervision of one of the Design Technology teachers); and supporting the work of an Over 60s café that operates near the School.

YungMash Collective Fashion Show

YungMash Collective Fashion Show
The Wall (our award-winning pupil-led magazine) held a special Fashion Show to raise money for the YungMash Collective.
Established by our former Head Girl, Masha Shishkina, the Collective supports young adults in peer-to-peer mentoring relationships.

Rackets Cubed Partnership and Fundraising

Rackets Cubed Partnership and Fundraising
Charity Rackets Cubed works nationally to enhance "the long-term achievement of inner-City kids through integrated Sports, Education and Nutrition programmes".
It organises weekly extra-curricular racket sports activities, as well as maths support, and the session is rounded off with a healthy meal. As well as being a host site for these sessions, Ibstock pupils have been helping the young pupils who attend from one of our local partner schools.
The Ibstock community also holds regular donation drives to provide essential items, delivered by the charity to those who need them most. We are committed to strengthening this long-term partnership.

Intergenerational Tea Party for Elderly Roehampton Residents Hosted by Senior 10 Pupils

Intergenerational Tea Party
A group of 30 Senior 10 pupils used their own initiative to plan and host a tea party for local elderly residents in Roehampton.
A raffle, quiz, concert, and delicious refreshments provided by Ibstock’s catering team, made for a truly enjoyable event. It was clear that both young and old took much away from their interactions with each other and sharing experiences. For many guests getting out and socialising is a struggle so this occasion helped to facilitate that. We hope to make this a regular community event.
